I brought Dylan in to the pediatrician this morning because his congestion seemed to be lingering. Luckily, when we made the appointment yesterday the nurse recommended that we install a humidifier in his room, which seemed to work wonders. Who would have thought. Anyway, he was given the all clear but also two immunization shots. The boy was not happy. We have also been given the all clear to give him solids for each meal in view of his size. He is now 28.5 inches and 19.5 pounds. You kind of suspect that isnt really the normal growth projection when the doctor asks you how big his father is, and still seems perplexed when told 5'10". But when told that paternal grandfather is over 6' 2"...well, then he seemed satisfied. Apparently Dylan is the size of a 9 month old..hence the need to get more food into him especially iron rich cereal. This kid will be taller than me in a few years.

Ha ha! Dylan would be cute in any size!

Hmmm. I have accepted the fate to be the littlest in the family. In fact, there's probably little chance for Milla to be my size. My mother was 5' 8'' in her hay day (she has shrunk to 5'6"), my brother is 6'2"...My dad is exactly 6 foot. Chris is the average Dutch = 6'3"
Milla is expected to be at least 178. How is that for a galah??

I am glad Dylan is feeling better with the humidifier.

How are you?

Dylan IS feeling better with it. Am quite surprised as always thought humidity was bad. Am good. Trying to shake a cold but otherwise waiting patiently for Spring. D is going to Ams early March but we wont be tagging along as too short a visit. But we will still be in Milan in May. Must think about a joint family gathering. You game? Am jealous of your Flamenco getaway.

Oh dear, my flamenco getaway is peanut in comparison to your world trip via OZ, MYS and Phuket sweetheart. It was a treat though to have a 100% me time moving to music, going to concerts, art museums etc. Thoroughly relished.... You know what it is like, once a mum, these opportunities are rare right?

Would love to do Milan/Italy family gathering but for timing it would be best if it is end of May rather than early. My mama is going to be here in April so I have to take time off then ... Not sure, if we can do it early May as we are off to Asia in March... Can't have too many hols and time off work sweetie...

Love to you and the kids and hope that you will recoved from your cold soon!

Wow, your Mum will be in NL in spring? Nice. Sorry, have got dates wrong. Will be in Milan 16-28 June. Must touch base with you about recommended places to spend a week. Where you going in asia?

Wow Sof. Amazing Dylan - I did think to myself as I saw the pix that Dylan looks bigger than the skinny chicken Daniel. xx

Rara, EVERYONE we met when we were back in KL commented on how big he was. Did not help that he was being compared to dainty adorable co-cukur-jambul-ee. Was so worried (this kid's head is Sasha's size and Sash only hit 20 pounds at a year old) that even checked with ped about size and was luckily reassured that there is no corelation between baby size and obesity. Also helps that Gord is over six-two. But yeah, feeding him 3 square meals of cereal, veg and fruits, AND milk. Funny thing is he is not fat..just freakin sturdy/built, know what I mean?

Hey Sof, June should be OK for us for Italy/Milano...

If you want, we can try to organise a nice house in the country but not too far away from a charming city...

The kids can play outside and we can drink wine and eat lots of yummy food (and babysit each other's kids)...

Hows that?

yes, Mum is coming to NL for tulip season.

We are off to Taipei & KL end of Feb, early March. To be confirmed.
