The last family member signed at 8.10 pm last night. Spent the next 2 hours calling up various rellies asking for their help in upcoming inspection of property. D's dad is thrilled as the family now has 4 properties in the area. He will of course be helping D inspect. D's elder brother will also be doing us a huge favour by helping with the inspection as D wouldnt know a septic tank if one hit him on the head. I have decided not to go because the waters are too dangerous for the kids..icy cold..death upon submersion I suspect. Now to deal with banks, interest rates and US dollar rates...sigh.
The island as you can see is teeny-tiny. But the cottage is hidden amongst the trees.

You see that little white dot behind the plane..that is D's sister's place. His dad's place is on the other side of that island.

And this is the shack that will house us for the hopefully many summers to come.
This is going to be one hell of an experience for a KL-lite who thought Seremban was way too rural..

oh wow this is super cool! i have always wished to own an island and it's a long time coming before that day arrive. you guys move so much due to work that it's lovely to have a base - set some roots somewhere and what better place than in idyllic island all to yourself. what is the island called? i am thinking a fishing license or eco-tourism B&B once you retire from academia!
Gorgeous. A dream place.
You are blessed.
MsJ..we have yet to think of a name. Apparently we have to get it engraved in a huge rock to make it official..although I think it will be a tad tombstoney. Maybe I should do a FB survey. B&B susah sikit as no electricity..hahahaha. And I wouldnt call it an island..more like a boulder surrounded by water...
Nina, yes it is gorgeous actually. Cant describe how amazing the views can be there at sunset..the part about Canada that makes up for damn cold. When you guys are tired of skiing on snow, come on over and we can get the kids waterskiing...
Sof, you can count on this, I am so going to crash at your little island.... We do all sports on water, frozen or otherwise. Are you going to be there this summer?
Love. Nxxx
Yes Nina. Sash is signed up for camp until mid July so we plan to be out there from mid July to end August. Next year onwards we will be there from mid May to end August.
